Dear MVPB Families,

I hope this message finds you all in good health and spirits. As we navigate through the challenges posed by the recent weather conditions, I wanted to reach out with an important update regarding our playing fields.

Despite our collective hope to resume activities soon, the persistent rainfall has necessitated an extension of the closure of both MVPB and City Fields. After careful consideration and assessment of the fields, we’ve determined that more time is required to allow the fields to adequately dry and ensure they are safe for play.

Extended Closure Details:

  • New Expected Reopening Date: We are now targeting February 12th for the fields to reopen. This extension will provide the necessary time for the fields to dry properly and be prepared for use.
  • Impact on Scheduled Events: Unfortunately, this means an additional delay for our planned events, practices, and games. We understand the frustration and inconvenience this may cause and are diligently working to mitigate the impact, including rescheduling activities where possible.
  • Commitment to Field Preservation: The decision to extend the closure period reflects our commitment to providing a safe and high-quality playing environment. Protecting the fields now from further damage is crucial for the remainder of the season.
  • Continuous Monitoring and Communication: We will continue to monitor the condition of the fields closely and keep you informed of any further developments. Our goal is to ensure that we can resume activities as quickly and safely as possible.

We recognize that this extension may be disappointing. However, the safety of our players and the quality of our playing surfaces are our top priorities. We are grateful for your understanding, patience, and continued support during this time.

We encourage teams and families to stay connected and prepare for the season ahead within the current constraints. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you once again for your cooperation and support. We look forward to seeing our players back on the fields soon.

Best regards,

Paul Swansbrough President, Murrieta Valley Pony Baseball
