Dear MVPB Families,

I trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits. While we share your enthusiasm for the upcoming season, it’s disheartening to bring news of a slight delay.

Due to anticipated heavy rainfall and unfavorable weather conditions, both MVPB and City Fields will be temporarily closed. Our primary focus is on preserving the fields and playing surfaces to ensure the safety of all participants.

Here are the key details:

  • Closure Duration: The current expectation is that the closure will last until February 9th. Please note that this timeline is subject to change based on ongoing weather assessments.
  • Event Cancellations: Regrettably, all scheduled events, practices, and games during this period are canceled. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and are actively exploring options to reschedule these events. Please check with your coach for updates regarding alternative practice locations they might secure.
  • Field Preservation: The closure is crucial for protecting the fields and playing surfaces from potential damage caused by heavy rainfall. Your cooperation in adhering to this closure will greatly contribute to maintaining the quality of our facilities.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Rest assured, we will diligently monitor the weather situation and make adjustments as needed. Updates will be provided promptly regarding any changes to the closure duration.

On a related note, the MVPB field closure policy is rooted in the conditions of standing water, sinking, and excessive mud, aiming to prioritize participant safety and protect the integrity of our playing surfaces. By adhering to these criteria, we ensure that field closures are based on tangible factors, allowing for consistent and objective assessments.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
